DRIcore is a subfloor system that creates comfortable floors over concrete. DRIcore installs EASILY -- "in a snap" -- without nails or glue. DRIcore panels are made of a resilient engineered wood core with a water-resistant polyethylene membrane on the underside.
The secret to the comfort of DRIcore is that the wood core never touches the concrete floor. Molded polyethylene cleats raise the floor up off the cold concrete, creating a permanent air space and ensuring that the finished floor remains warm and dry. And, because it's wood, a DRIcore subfloor feels warm -- like a conventional subfloor with a wood underlayment.
DRIcore Provides Several Benefits
DURABLE - Made of resilient engineered wood core, with a water resistant polyethylene underside, DRIcore won't split, peel or warp. DRIcore is engineered to stay intact and functional even when the wood core expands and contracts with normal moisture levels. DRIcore will support over 3,000 lbs. per sq. ft. -- strong enough for the heaviest furniture, pool tables and grand pianos.
RAISED - Polyethylene cleats raise the floor and your feet off the cold concrete. The air space created between the concrete floor and the DRIcore panels allows moisture to evaporate naturally, which helps preserve furnishings and prevent the formation of mold -- an unwelcome visitor in any home.
INSULATES - With an R value of 1.7 and 3 when installed over a concrete floor, DRIcore has the effect of warming a room up to 5.6°C (10.6°F).
VERSATILE - Finish flooring options such as carpet, vinyl, laminate and engineered hardwood may be installed on top of DRIcore.
